Even more sustainable

Biobased thermoplastic composites are based on plastics from renewable resources and natural fibres. Options are flax combined with PLA or PA11. One key benefit is the low density (1.3 kg/dm³) and the material also provides good damping. The materials exhibit interesting properties and weight-saving potential; 58 % vs. steel. There is even some potential to save 15% weight compared to the use of glass-reinforced composites and aluminium.
